News broke out that Turkish giants Fenerbahçe has appointed ‘The Special One’ Jose Mourinho as their manager for the upcoming season.

Also, Antonio Conte has agreed all the terms with Napoli and has started the preparations for the next season.

These two former Chelsea and Spurs managers are returning into managerial post and soon will witness them in dugout with lot of intensity and high-drama.

Continuing the article lets study both the appointments one by one.

“Merhaba Fenerbahçe” Says Mourinho!

The Portuguese manager has been unveiled as new manager of Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahçe, located in Istanbul and will replace 61-year-old Ismail Kartal.

According to reports, Mourinho has signed a 2-year contract while salary is still not known.

After being sacked by Roma, Mourinho returns to football management after almost four months and is believed to be fit to start his managerial career again.

After the spell at Italy, there were rumors that clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United are interested in reappointing Mourinho, as owners of both the club were not fully convinced with their current manager especially Chelsea, who sacked Pochettino after a full season. But the good news is they have appointed Maresca from Leicester City on a 5-year deal, while United are still evaluating the stats of Ten Hag.

Apart from this Mourinho was interested to manage the Portuguese National Team, as because it was the only stint left by him but this dream also didn’t come true as the board is convinced with current manager Roberto Martinez.

Despite all this disappointment, a new rumor arrived and this time it was Turkish club Fenerbahçe, who just lost the league title after securing 99 points to Galatasaray, securing 102 points in the Turkish Super Lig.

But the Fenerbahçe fans fueled up with expectation after arrival of Jose Mourinho as they expect that he’s going to make this club a ‘Special One’.

Past few years were not so fruitful for Jose as in 10 years he has been sacked for 4 times by Chelsea, Man Utd, Spurs and Roma.

But in span of this 10 years, he has also won Europa League and Conference League with Man Utd and Roma respectively and thus is the only manager to win all three major UEFA trophies.

Conte: Homecoming!

Just like Mourinho, Antonio Conte is also returning to managerial post and its nowhere but in his home country Italy, and this time it’s not Juventus or Inter Milan but its Napoli.

Conte has agreed a 3-year deal with Napoli, contract valid till June 2027.

Since March 2023, Antonio Conte was out of job after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspurs and was waiting for a sweet return.

During the span of this 14 months, his links came with Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG and few Saudi clubs, but all of them didn’t advance.

But two strong links were seen with him, first one was Italy National Team and second one was Napoli.

The Italian National team were willing to work with Conte and were expecting that this guy can revive the Italian Spirit and will help them to compete for the World Cup which they haven’t played since 2014. Their expectations were also to win the Euros 2024 again after winning it against England in 2021.

But he didn’t reply with any proper response so the national board had to appoint Spalleti who had just left Napoli despite helping the club to win the Scudetto after 3 decades, after Maradona left.

Now the only option was to return to Home and join Napoli.

But this move also didn’t came into effect as they appointed Rudi Garcia who was sacked by Saudi club Al-Nassr.

In this case too, Conte didn’t reply with proper response to club’s proposal and were also disappointed with negations that took placed between them.

But Rudi Garcia’s stint at Napoli didn’t work as they were not able to compete this season as they did with Spalleti in the last season.

After just 5 months of appointment, he was fired from club due consequences with club’s veteran players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen and poor results in opening games.

After that former manager Walter Mazzarri made a shock return to the club after a decade, who ended their trophy drought in 2012 by winning Italian Cup beating Juventus. He replaced Garcia and signed a 7-month deal.

But this appointment was not worthy too as they sacked Mazzarri just after 3 months and this move came into effect just two days before they face Barcelona in round of 16.

Then they appointed Francesco Calzona who was managing Slovakia National Team at that time and was made to manage both the teams simultaneously.

At the end they finished 10th on the table, which means they are not going to compete any European Competition next season.

And after appointing 3 managers in a single season, they have now settled with Antonio Conte.

Let’s hope for the best with both the Bosses.
