NEW CHAPTER IN ENDRICK'S LIFE
ENDRICK'S EXIT IN JANUARY
October 30
Transfer news broke out on Wednesday that Real Madrid's youngster Endrick has decided his next move to revive his career. With club open to the move he doesn't hesitate to leave the club permanently. His confidence should be appreciated as despite being injured and rejected by Los Blancos (Real Madrid), he has set his own standards to select his next destination in the football career.
LYON'S Approach for Endrick
Just few hours ago French outlets have confirmed that Olympique Lyonnais have made a concrete contact with Real Madrid for the Brazilian to join club on January 2026. As expected, Real Madrid have positively responded to Lyon and the negotiations have started. This move guarantees for regular first team minutes and club's participation in Europa League.
Can LYON "Seal The Deal"?
In terms of finance, a question always arise, "Can this really happen?". The same goes with Lyon due to their recent news on club's failure to prove financial viability.
The club was indeed administratively relegated to Ligue 2 due to severe financial issues, with debts reportedly exceeding €500 million. Despite finishing 6th in the league and qualify for Europa League, the DNCG(Direction Nationale du Controle de Gestion) , a financial watchdog organization for French Football gave a heartbreaking decision to relegate Lyon to Ligue 2 on June 2025.
On July 2025 the club's ownership had decided to appeal this decision to French Football Federation. And luckily this appeal was accepted and the relegation was overruled. It was overruled as the ownership had promised to change the club's leadership and inject significant cash.
Lyon's Road to Recovery
As of now John Textor's , Eagle Football Group owes 77.49% stake in Lyon at a valuation of around €900 million, including debt. John also has stakes in Crystal Palace, Botafogo and RWD Molenbeek, creating a multi-club ownership network.
The club has been restructuring the club's financial status by selling some of non-core assets like Women's team (selling 52% to Michele King)and Arena business. They are focusing on boosting sponsorship deals, merchandising to create a global brand of the club, hence increasing fan engagement in foreign countries.
It also includes developing young talents and selling these world class talents to the European giants, which has a long history with list included:
- Rayan Cherki to Man city in 2025 for €36.5 million
- Lucas Paqueta to West Ham in 2022 for €43 million
- Bruno Guimaraes to Newcastle United in 2022 for €42 million
- Bradley Barcola to PSG in 2023 for €45 million
- Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal for €53 million
Endrick's Path Forward
We all know that Endrick wants to leave Real Madrid and if its not Lyon, then it will be any other club soon. Endrick had set a few conditions for his new club which included regular European football along with significant first team minutes.
The 2 most important conditions will be met by joining Lyon. Also the Ligue 1 and Europa League environment will help him to develop his skills, tactical awareness and confidence. As Ligue 1 is considered as "League of Talents" it will help Endrick to catch the attention of several European giants and it will also help to increase his market value{ current value: €35 million}
And the most crucial point is the participation in 2026 World Cup with Brazil. Although he has an advantage that Endrick has already played under Carlo Ancelotti who is currently managing Brazil National Team.
"Real Madrid’s Edge in Endrick’s Loan Deal"
We are very well known about Madrid's strategy about selling young players, where they ultimately found financial incentives through the move. As of this move Los Blancos will have several clauses included in the loan deal, whether its loan deal or permanent deal.
In recent news we have heard about Nico Paz who is in Como(Serie A), where Real Madrid have included buy-back clause of €9 million and 50% sell on clause for any future sale.
"Endrick’s Road Back to Madrid"
At the end a question always remain "Can he do it in Real Madrid?". Well it mostly depends on 2 factors: "1. Development of Gonzalo Garcia" and "2. Whose next Kylian Mbappe?"
If we look at the development of Gonzalo Garcia in recent years, it shows us promising aspects from the young lad, especially his Club World Cup 2025 campaign. Also his contract has been extended to 2030 and plus he now wears the number 9 jersey, signalling their trust in him as a future striker, following the tradition of iconic players liken Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo .
Now the second concern is whose going to be the next Kylian Mbappe. As its the tradition of Madrid , that every Star is replaced by a Star. As we have witnessed Benzema replacing Ronaldo, Courtois replacing Navas etc. Well its too early to say anything for this topic but Real Madrid is the club which has shown its elite mentality to sign players to create Galactico's.
